Students often have great ideas, but if they lack social skills, their idea can never take shape.

So what do young people need today?

What are their essential needs at whatever level of education they are at?

Encouragement, self-awareness, how to discover their abilities, how to develop their skills and their potential. In other words, how to grow.

Through studies in all kinds of educational settings, as well as through my educational experiences over the last 3 decades, those with high self-esteem are more easily motivated and have greater success; they interpret new situations as a new challenge, not threatening; they prefer independence; risks and responsibilities; they participate in solving new tasks; they accept the consequences of their actions.

Soft skills therefore contribute to personal development, participation in learning and success in the labour market" (Gibb, 2014).

"Research also shows that these skills are a better predictor of educational achievement, financial earnings and employment than hard skills" (Kyllolen 2013).

So if we are about to talk about the future of young pupils, students and professionals we have to take into account the official data from the Global Financial Forum in 2022 which highlights the huge changes in the global labour market:

• - Employers are now shifting their focus on the skills of prospective employees, asking for their CVs to be framed by 70% soft skills versus 30% in hard skills - degrees, educational qualifications, certifications..

The education of people today, has changed both in form and importance. It does not simply refer to the acquisition of qualifications. Instead, it focuses globally on the education of people as individuals, as personalities, as a group. Therefore, this holistic education has now become more important than ever before.

If there is a time to reflect on these changes and their effects, which have already begun to rapidly change the global reality, this is the time.
